Report Cards & Holiday, School Closed

Good Afternoon Parents!

By now, you have received your child's report card!  Please remember to sign the envelope that it was in so your child can return it to Mr. Phelps.  This is to ensure that you received your child's grades.  You do not need to return the report card, just the envelope.

Also, Monday January 19th, 2015, school will be closed in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday.  School will resume Tuesday, January 20th as regularly scheduled.

Enjoy your weekend!

A Wonderful Winter Party & Thank You Note!

Winter Party Craft
Manning Oaks Elementary School
4th grade - Mr. Phelps

Dear Parents!

Thanks to you, the class very much enjoyed their party yesterday!  It was so much appreciated!

Despite the time crunch, we had everything we needed to have a successful event before the Winter Break.

The class enjoyed a game of Bingo using M&Ms (which they got to keep), a Winter themed craft they brought home today (if he/she made one) and plenty of food to devour.

We want to also thank the parents who stopped by to visit and assisted with the party by setting up, helped crafting, hosting a game while being attentive to our children's needs. The class definitely enjoyed themselves!

Again, thank you for your participation!

Wishing you all a wonderful and safe Winter Season!

Please note these important dates:

December 19, 2014: Last day of school before Winter break.
December 22, 2014 - January 2, 2015:  Winter Break, school is closed.
January 5, 2015: Teacher Workday (Students off).
January 6, 2015: First day of semester.

Winter Class Party Follow Up

Good Evening Parents!

Today, your child was given a note about the Winter Party this Thursday for their class along with what to bring for the event.  In case you have not received or seen it, check your email for a message in reference to the Winter Party.

We compiled a list of items for the party and assigned them for everyone to participate. We will have food, treats, game(s) and a craft area for our children with your help! Pizza and wings will be ordered – in the list, we ask some to contribute towards that.  If your child will not be in class that day, please let us know so we can try to cover the item.

We need volunteers to help with the set up, etc.  Contact one of us above, to let us know.  You must already be registered/cleared with Fulton County to volunteer in general.

To offset the cost for the class craft project, we are asking for a $2.00 donation from each student.  Thank you in advance for your assistance.  We want them to have a fun party!  We are looking for items to accommodate 30 in the class, unless specified next to the child’s name.

Check your email for the list.  Thank you in advance!

Winter Class Party !!!

The Winter Class Party is approaching for our children's class.
The time scheduled for the party is
Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 12:30pm - 1:30pm.

A list of items needed for the party will be sent in a new blog post and email later today or tomorrow once we finalize it.  If you do have suggestions on what you would like to bring/send already, please email me so I do not put it on the list to avoid duplicates.  Besides food, of course, we also wanted to have a craft area for the students too.

To volunteer for the Winter Party, a sign up will be available in the email that will be sent later.  You can volunteer, but ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST REGISTER  with Fulton County http://www.fultoncountyschoolssafetysecurity.org/

To avoid problems when you come in, please register as soon as possible. It takes about 48-72 hours after the registration process to clear you in the system. This will also clear you for other future volunteer opportunities at Manning Oaks Elementary.
